With both heroes and villains of the previous “Spider-Man” franchises – including web-slingers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield – returning, no surprise to hear that Willem Dafoe is also being recruited for another glide across New York’s skyline.
Dafoe’s reprising his Green Goblin from the original Sam Raimi-directed “Spider-Man” for Marvel’s new “Spider-Man : Far From Home” follow-up, which will see current Spidey Tom Holland thrown into the multi-verse where he mixes it up with some sticky-handed colleagues… and their adversaries.
According to The Illuminerdi, Dafoe and Thomas Haden Church are negotiating to reprise their roles as the GG and The Sandman (from “Spider-Man 3”), respectively, for the film.
Jamie Foxx is already confirmed to return as Electro from “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” (that’s the Andrew Garfield flick), while Alfred Molina is reprising Doc Ock – from Raimi’s “Spider-Man 2” – for the crossover flick.
No word on how big any of these folks’ roles will be but with so many characters, will there by any room for the contemporary Peter Parker in the film?
