Padalecki’s Walker, Texas Ranger finds a home at The CW

The reboot of “Walker, Texas Ranger” starring Jared Padalecki as the title character has found a new home at The CW, reports Deadline. The “Supernatural” star is saying goodbye to his familiar character of Sam Winchester, and is ready for his new role in “Walker”.

Padalecki is also exec producing the project, which is a reimagining of the CBS action/thriller series that starred Chuck Norris as the Texas Ranger.

The show centres on Cordell Walker (Padalecki), a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. He’ll attempt to reconnect with his children, navigate clashes with his conservative family, and find unexpected common ground with his new partner (one of the first women in Texas Rangers’ history), while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.

While no release date information has been revealed as yet, it’s expected to be a part of The CW’s 2020-21 lineup.
