A couple of months back we reported that Patrick Stewart looked to be reprising his iconic role in a new “Star Trek” series, as Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
News just in, the actor himself has confirmed his return, in a statement saying he never thought he would return to the role – noting that his time with “Star Trek” had “run its natural course”, but to our delight – he will indeed be back!
Stewart played the Captain from 1987 to 1994, as well as in four feature films, and will return to the franchise in a new “Star Trek” series for US network CBS.
No premiere date for the new series has been announced, but we’re all on the edge of our seats in anticipation for it!
