Patty Jenkins to direct One Day She’ll Darken with lead Chris Pine

Patty Jenkins and Chris Pine are reuniting for “One Day She’ll Darken”, a six-episode limited drama on TNT. The duo worked together on the popular superhero flick “Wonder Woman” earlier this year. Jenkins will be directing the pilot, with Pine cast as the male lead, reported by Deadline.

“One Day She’ll Darken” is inspried by the autobiogaphy of Fauna Hodel, who was given away at birth by her teenage mother to a black restroom attendant in a Nevada casino 1949. As Fauna begins to investigate the secrets to her past, she follows a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel, a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery and a suspect in the infamous “Black Dahlia” murder of Elizabeth Short in Los Angeles in 1947. Jenkins’ husband Sam Sheridan has written the series.

Pine’s character is Jay Singletary, a former Marine-turned-reporter who is looking for redemption after previously writing about Hodel.

A release date for the sequel to “Wonder Woman” has just been announced, but Jenkins’ involvement as director has yet to be confirmed.
