No, not that Peter
Sam Raimi is in the race, we know that, but Aint it Cool now says filmmaker Peter Weir (“Master and Commander”, “Dead Poet’s Society”) is also under consideration to direct the forthcoming ‘Rings’ prequel, “The Hobbit”. Sounds like Bobby Shaye’s keeping his options open.
Either would probably make a good movie out of “The Hobbit” – but it will be kinda sad to see Peter Jackson’s name missing from the opening crawl won’t it?
