Like Christian Bale, new Batman contender is British

Another day, another Bat-rumor – but this one seems to be gathering some serious steam.

Robert Pattinson, one of the biggest and best things to break out of the money-spinning “Twilight” franchise (see evidence : “Cosmopolis”, “The Rover” and “Remember Me”, for starters – this guy has the goods!), is the latest actor to be linked to the title role in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”.

Following the announcement that Ben Affleck has vacated the Bat cave, every blogger and thumping fist has speculated, suggested or reported on a possible replacement – but only a couple of those names have apparently even come close to being on WB’s radar.  Those in the know suggest Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jack O’Connell,  and now Pattinson, are said to be the only rock-hard contenders – that we know of – for the part. Interestingly enough, they’re all fit the description of what director Reeves is said to be looking for in his new Batman, too – primarily, young.

“The Batman” (that title will change) is said to be the first chapter in a new trilogy that’ll focus more on Bruce Wayne detective than the name of his mother. Or something.

Lost… Again!? ABC considering reboot!
