Private Practice‘s Kate Walsh books a follow-up appointment with Television

It looks like Kate Walsh is headed back to network television screens to star in “Bad Judge”, according to THR.

Based on a concept from Anne Heche, the single-camera comedy centres on a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman who lives life on the edge and plays with the law, despite also being a judge in the San Bernadino Criminal Court System.

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez productions will bring the comedy to our screens, with Walsh set to star in the title role.

Chad Kultgen will write the script as well as executive produce alongside Ferrell, McKay and Walsh; Universal’s Anne Heche and Jill Messick have also signed on as executive producers.

Since the end of the sixth season of “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Private Practice” wrapped at the end of January, Walsh has been kept busy working on roles on FX’s “Fargo” and DirectTV’s “Full Circl”.

Walsh has also starred in four indie films due for release next year – “Any Day”, “Staten Island Summer”, “Dermaphoria” and “Hello I Must Be Going”.

“Grey’s Anatomy” creator Shonda Rhimes has also admitted that she’s love to see Walsh return to the popular medical drama “at some point”.

“Bad Judge” will see Walsh’s collaborate once again with McKay and Ferrell, with the actress having been a regular staple in videos produced for their comedy site, Funny or Die.
