The fat lady hasn’t yet sung for James Gunn and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”- or if it has, those behind this new billboard in California didn’t get the memo.
A group of fans have launched a GoFundMe campaign to have billboards that say “Rehire James Gunn” outside of Orlando and Anaheim Disney parks.
The boards, the first of which appeared on Monday just outside of Disneyland , follows a GoFundMe package that launched September 20 and has raised $5000 in a hope to get Gunn back onboard “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”, which Disney fired the filmmaker from a couple of months back. Whether or not Disney reverses on their decision, after seeing the boards, will remain to be seen – but previous reports suggest they’re adamant that Gunn’s days are over at the mouse.
The billboard reportedly set those responsible back a sumly $4k.
In the wake of Gunn’s firing, Disney pressed pause on the superhero threequel. While they were doing the hokey pokey, Warner Bros snapped up the former Troma employee to write and direct their next “Suicide Squad” film.
