Respect, Tomb Raider 2 releases pushed due to pandemic

No mask can help studio releases right now.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, another high-profile release – or two – has been pushed back.

Aretha Franklin biopic “Respect”, has been delayed from January 15 to August 13.  Deadline, who had the scoop on the former, say their upcoming “Tomn Raider” sequel starring Alicia Vikander has been removed from its March 19 premiere date; that film now is unset.

The Jennifer Hudson-starring “Respect” was originally a Christmas Day platform release, but was moved in July to a wide opening this coming Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend.

“Tomb Raider 2”, which Ben Wheatley will helm, was set for mid-March back in September last year.
