After he’s done with the White House-set thing with Channing Tatum, disaster movie king (and I say that respectfully) Roland Emmerich (“2012”, “Independence Day”, “The Day After Tomorrow”) Roland Emmerich will return to familiar territory with “Emergence”, the result of some sort of alien-centric spec he’s recently acquired.
Deadline says it’s a big-budget, alien invasion thing – something not, well, ‘alien’ to the “Independence Day” director.
No studio yet, and no start date yet – which means, potentially, Emmerich could do those two “Independence Day” sequels first – but if it involves a sizable budget, aliens, and things going ‘boom!’ you can predict Emmerich will make something of it.
