Ruby Rose to play Batwoman in CW crossover

Australian actress Ruby Rose has been cast as Batwoman in The CW’s annual crossover episode – which merges DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow”, “Arrow”, “The Flash” and “Supergirl”. Though the episode will be her debut as the character, word is that The CW is also developing a series around the character.

According to Variety, Batwoman – aka Kate Kane – is armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind. She soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

Rose’s Hollywood career is certainly taking off, and she is starring in the upcoming “The Meg” with Jason Statham. She has recently starred in “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage”, “John Wick: Chapter 2” and the “Orange is the New Black” TV series.
