Rumors Debunked: Johnson’s SW trilogy, Alien TV, Cavill in Shazam

Some exciting rumors have, both fortunately and unfortunately (deciding on which side of the bed you lie), been squished today – beginning with a rumor suggesting “Star Wars : The Last Jedi’ director Rian Johnson has abandoned plans to make a new “Star Wars” trilogy.

The fine folks at SuperBroMovies had heard that Johnson might be off his “Star Wars” trilogy – but not so, it seems. The filmmkaker took to Twitter to clear up the rumors : “No it isn’t true, I’m still working on the trilogy,” Johnson wrote. “With all due respect to the movie bros, who I’m sure are lovely kind bros with good fraternal intentions.”

It was announced in 1997, shortly before the release of Johnson’s “Last Jedi” that the filmmaker would stay put with Disney and develop a new series of “Star Wars” movies – the plot of those unknown.

Meantime, the oft-reliable UK scooper ‘Mr H’ says yesterday’s news of an “Alien” TV show or happening is old – well, it ceased to be the moment Disney purchased Fox.

Contrary to a rumor yesterday that Henry Cavill has actually filmed a cameo for “Shazam”, reprising his Man of Steel guise, we’re back to report that while a Superman of some suit might cameo in the movie it likely won’t be Cavill wearing the cape.

According to Forbes, it was the negotiations between Warner Bros and Cavill to do the cameo that was the straw that broke the camel’s back, ultimately resulting in the two sides seemingly going their own ways now.
