Russos urge you not spoil Avengers : Endgame!

“Avengers : Endgame” directors Joe and Anthony Russo released a joint statement today urging film fans not to spoil the plot of the upcoming film for others.

The statement was released, not at all coincidentally, hot on the heels of leaked footage  – the vision and images of which are pinging through social media – hitting the web.  Images and GIFs generated from that video are now doing the rounds, and Reddit threads have been devoted to discussions of the plot and character reveals seen in the leak.

Not opening until April 26, the Marvel Studios blockbuster is the victim of a scumbag pirate – the studio hasn’t confirmed who or where he was when he managed to get the footage – who has uploaded up to five-minutes from the film’s conclusion to the web.  The footage reportedly includes key moments that occur near the end of the film – moments so spoilery, it’s prompting many to quit social media until they see the film.

“When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you,” the Russos said in the statement.

In the letter, the Russos wrote: “Please know that the two of us, along with everyone involved in Endgame, have worked tirelessly for the last three years with the sole intention of delivering a surprising and emotionally powrful conclusion to the Inifinity Saga. Because so many of you have invested your time, your hearts, and your souls into these stories, we’re once again asking for your help.”

Journalists have not been allowed to screen “Avengers : Endgame” prior to their interviews with the cast, and won’t get to see the film until late next week.
