Salma Hayek will join the voice cast of “Sausage Party”, the raunchy animated pic about a sausage’s search to uncover the truth of his existence.
The Oscar nominee joins Seth Rogan, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, Edward Norton and David Krumholtz in the pic which Rogan wrote with Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.
The pic follows the sausage as he and his friends battle to get back through the supermarket to their aisle after falling out of a shopping trolley. They must do so before the 4th of July sale gets underway.
The R-rated animation will be directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan.
Sony plans to release the film in 2015.
