Sarandon pulls out of Graves‘ first lady race

Nick Nolte needs a leading lady.

Susan Sarandon has pulled out of Epix’s upcoming comedy series “Graves”, citing “artistic differences”. The actress was to play the wife of Nolte’s former U.S President Richard Graves “who decides to follow her own political ambitions just as her husband embarks on a Don Quixote-like journey to right the wrongs of his administration two decades after leaving office.”

An Epic rep tells Deadline, who have the scoop on Sarandon’s exit, that a replacement will be announced soon.

“Graves” has been ordered for 10 episodes by the Epix network. Production is expected to start in the fall for a premiere in Autumn 2016.
