A rumored sequel to the Paul Feig-directed comedy/thriller from a couple of years back looks to be inching forward with People reporting that Feig and stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are off to Italy this May to shoot the film. The new film, penned by Jessica Sharzer – who wrote the original – is set in Capri, an island in Italy’s Bay of Naples, “famed for its rugged landscape, upscale hotels and shopping, from designer fashions to limoncello and handmade leather sandals” per Google.

Though the TV series sequel that he starred in didn’t get picked up, Kevin Bacon still seems genuinely interested in reprising Valentine McKee in a sequel to the 1990 classic.

The Upside 2
Bryan Cranston is working on a sequel to the 2017 drama The Upside. Per Variety, the former “Breaking Bad” star is readying himself for more backlash.
He said, “We’re doing a sequel to it. I got a lot of sh*t for that. I am an able-bodied actor playing a disabled [character.] I was pretty surprised that I got some blowback to it, and I thought, “There’s a good point, that disabled actors are not given an opportunity.” It’s a kind of a catch-22 that… it’s like, “Do you have the cache to be able to carry a film?”
We would have missed some great performances [if certain able-bodied actors hadn’t played characters with disabilities.]
[However,] you can only have the perspective of a 66-year-old white male… you can understand but you cannot really know what it feels like to live in that skin.”
Bring it On 2
Bring it On actress Gabrielle Union says she’s not giving up on reuniting the cast of the original film for a direct sequel. “We’ve been developing a sequel forever,” Union tells Variety. “But for folks who don’t exactly understand how long development can take in Hollywood, that could be five minutes or 50 years.”
