Coinciding with news that Legendary and Universal Pictures have put “Pacific Rim 2” back on the release calendar, locking in Feb 23 2018 for it’s bow, Deadline reports that Scott Eastwood (“Fast 8”, “The Longest Ride”) is in talks to join the cast.
John Boyega, of “Star Wars : The Force Awakens” fame, would play the lead role in the film – the son of the character played by Idris Elba in the Guillermo del Toro-directed original film. No details on Eastwood’s role.

Miranda Otto (“Lord of the Rings”) and Anthony LaPaglia (“Without a Trace”) have joined the cast of the “Annabelle” sequel, currently filming in Los Angeles.
The David F. Sandberg (“Lights Out”) directed sequel fixes on a couple – a dollmaker and his wife – who let a nun and several girls into their home, only to find themselves soon stalked by the dollmaker’s demonic doll.
