Sequel news : Ghostbusters, Halloween, Bond, Brightburn

In conjunction with principal photography kicking off this week, “Ghostbusters” (2020) director Jason Reitman has ramped up on his socials – showing off the rather decayed Ecto-1, as well as showing off a look at his cast.
The new film, expected to feature the original cast (including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson) alongside Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd, is currently shooting in Calgary. Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim were also announced for the film this week, in undisclosed roles.

It mightn’t have set the box office on fire but according to producer James Gunn a sequel to this year’s evil-superhero flick “Brightburn” is in development.

Replying to a fan on Instagram, the filmmaker said “I think I’m tied up for the next few years with Suicide Squad and then Guardians [of the Galaxy 3], but we’re talking about the sequel.”

Blumhouse could be readying not one but two sequels to last year’s “Halloween”.

According to our friends at Bloody Disgusting, David Gordon Green is rumored to be attached to a two-parter. Jamie Lee Curtis is expected to reprise her role as Laurie Strode.
