25 sequels you probably didn’t know were on the way….

Sure, you know Skywalker’s about to swing his green one around again, and we know both Axel Foley and the Terminator are back on the streets, but there’s always a bottom shelf full of overnight rentals that we’ve never heard of – many of which are sequels.
Here’s a Wolverine-sized helping of sweet sequels of future days.

Scorpion King : The Lost Throne
If only to remind us of the once-fun “Mummy” franchise (and it’s every-funner spin-off starring Dwayne Johnson), Uni rounded up Billy Zane and Victor Webster for another of these coconut oil-doused sequels.

Double Impact 2
It’s not a done deal yet, but there’s been legitimate movement on a sequel to the Jean-Claude Van Damme classic. Hopefully they’ll be able to locate JC’ s twin – he hasn’t been seen in a while.

Mrs Doubtfire 2
This one’s been on-and-off more times than the Kettle at my grandmothers, but Fox have been relentlessly trying to put together a second adventure for Robin Williams’ cross-dressing divorcee.

Child’s Play 7
Don Mancini will be back at the helm for what will be a direct follow-up to last year’s “Curse of Chucky”. Alex Vincent… come on down!

Tremors 5
They’ve been talking about this for a while, but rumours suggest Universal might finally be ready to resurrect the Graboids… with Australia rumoured as a possible feeding locale for the mother hoppers.

Mall Cop : Bart 2
For those that loved “Grown Ups 2”? Kevin James makes his triumphant return as the department store cop who went on to snag the redhead* from “Glee”. *She is not in the sequel.

Major League 3
A sequel to the first two films – bypassing the events of the spin-off “Back in the Minors” – has been in development for a couple of years. The holdup has been blamed on a) Charlie Sheen’s schedule b) Wesley Snipes’ incarnation c) The studio’s cold feet.

Taken 3
The only reason we haven’t heard much about it is because Fox’s marketing machine won’t kick in for at least six months. You’ll then find out that the new film teams Liam Neeson with everyone’s other favourite action-star Forest Whitaker aka Ghost Dog.

Beethoven’s Treasure
Just in case you weren’t aware, the “Beethoven” series actually continued post-John Hughes. This one, I’m assuming, involves a dog digging up gold.

The Purge 3
Producer Jason Blumhouse says a third is already in the yakking stages. “If enough people see [The Purge: Anarchy] we have a lot of ideas for the third movie. I’d like to tell a story about the revolutionaries, I’d like to tell a story about the first Purge. ‘Purge 1’ was after 5 years, ‘Purge 2’ was after 6 years, so it’d be fun to see the first time the Purge happened. So there’s a lot of places we can go with it and I hope we get the chance to do it.”

3 Guns
Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg will reunite for a sequel – due somewhat in 2016 – based on the comic book (‘3 Guns’) of the same name.

Immortals 2
Producer Mark Canton recently revealed that a sequel to the Henry Cavill-starring protein powder commercial is in the early stages of development. Doubtful Henry will be back – after all, he’s now a super-expensive Superman.

Jack Reacher 2
Though the original didn’t exactly set the box office on fire, Tom Cruise seems to be crushing on the idea of turning this into a franchise. The sequel will be based on the Lee Childs book ‘Never Go Back’

Night at the Museum 3
Just when you thought it was safe to return to the cinema. Ben Stiller, Robin Williams and Owen Wilson regroup with director Shawn Levy for a second sequel to the vfx showreel.

Project X 2
That ‘found footage-style comedy from a few years back put enough bums on seats to warrant a sequel. Michael Bacall has been writing it.

Chronicle 2
Jack Stanley has stepped in for Josh Trank – busy helming FOX’s “Fantastic Four” reboot – on the sequel. A version of the script has already been tossed for being too dark.

Goon 2
Jay Baruchel, the crafty cat behind the original, is busy writing a sequel to his popular Canadian hockey comedy. It’s likely he’ll want to cast Jay Baruchel in the movie. And maybe have Jay Baruchel produce.

Hotel Transylvania 2
Adam Sandler will again lend his lungs to the sharp-toothed vampire, with Genndy Tartakovsky co-writing and directing. David Spade just did a cartwheel.

Jingle All The Way 2
While Arnold Schwarzenegger’s off shooting “Terminator”, Larry the Cable Guy fills his spot in the sequel to the kiddie comedy.

London Has Fallen
After the surprise success of “Olympus Has Fallen”, no surprise to see Gerard Butler back playing the McClane knock-off in a UK-set sequel. Morgan Freeman and Aaron Eckhart are also back.

Rounders 2
Robert De Niro – playing the villain – looks to join Matt Damon and Edward Norton in a tardy sequel to the John Dahl-directed drama.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil 2
A sequel to the cult classic horror/comedy, starring Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine, is set to go before the cameras later this year. Expect hilarious decapitations!

Rambo 5
Rumour has it that Stallone’s years-old idea to pit his Vietnam vet against human traffickers working the Mexican border has been revived.

Bad Boys 3
Everyone – producer Jerry Bruckheimer, helmer Michael Bay, and stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence – seem to be all be on the page when it comes to sequelizing that ‘90s classic.. again.

American Pie 5
“American Reunion” helmers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg will helm the follow-up to their recent dick-in-pastry reboot. Chris Klein just did a cartwheel.
