A sequel to the critically acclaimed “Shazam” (read our review here) is officially moving forward, with New Line tapping the original trusty trio Henry Gayden (writer), David F.Sanberg (director) and Peter Safran (producer) to return for the follow-up.
“Shazam!”, which garnered a solid $53.5 million this past weekend, stars Asher Angel and Zachary Levi as Billy Batson and his superhero alter-ego, respectively.
Dwayne Johnson is expected to play classic “Shazam!” villain Black Adam in a standalone movie before joining Angel and Levi in a “Shazam!” film down the track.
