Seasoned movie-maker Robert Rodriguez- and director of last week’s awesome ep of “The Mandalorian”- is teaming with Sofia Vergara (“Modern Family”) to bring Zorro back to the small screen.
The gender-reversed revamp, set up at NBC, will be penned by siblings Robert and Rebecca Rodriguez – who will executive produce alongside Vergara and more.
This new version will focus on Sola Dominguez, an underground artist who suits up as the legendary Zorro so she can fight for social justice. Her work puts her in the crosshairs of a bunch of criminal organizations.
That’s the role Vergara is playing, I assume- Dominguez/Zorro.
Interestingly enough, Rodriguez was once attached to direct the “Mask of Zorro” movie back in the day.
