Star Trek 4 back on track with new director targeted!

It’s been a long 3 years of waiting since the last “Star Trek” film, and news is finally starting to surface about a fourth entry into the “Star Trek” film franchise! Deadline reports that Noah Hawley, best known for creating FX’s Legion and Fargo TV series, is in final negotiations with Paramount Pictures to write and direct a new film. Hawley will also produce via his 26 Keys production banner along with JJ Abrams and his Bad Robot banner.

The last film was 2016’s “Star Trek Beyond”, directed by Justin Lin. JJ Abrams directed the two before that: 2009’s “Star Trek” and 2013’s “Star Trek Into Darkness”.

Little is known about the plot of the new film, but per Deadline the film will go forward with the Enterprise crew led by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban.

News over the past few years has been the doubt of the return of Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth, but their schedules are yet to be known as to where they stand on this one. Stay tuned!!
