With “Star Wars Episode VIII” getting it’s Ewoks in order, expect to hear a few casting rumours out of the rumour Cantina in the weeks to come.
A new one has surfaced at Latino Review suggesting British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“Jupiter Ascending”) is in the running to play the female lead in the “Force Awakens” sequel. She joins three other lasses on the shortlist including Tatiana Maslany, Olivia Cooke, and Gina Rodriguez.
Latino Review say the actresses are testing for two parts that have the same shortlist. No details on which these roles are.
Mbatha-Raw has already auditioned for the part/s, says the site, suggesting she’s sitting atop of that wish list.
Some filming for Rian Johnson’s “Star Wars Episode VIII” has already taken place but the majority of filming takes place in the new year.
