Star Wars TV show announces directors, reveals image

It’s been a big week for “Star Wars” news, with Lucasfilm – or more precisely, executive producer Jon Favreau – confirming all sorts of details pertaining to it’s upcoming live-action series, “The Mandalorian”.

The series, an eight-episoder set to launch on Disney’s streaming service next week, is set after the events of “Return of the Jedi” and features characters somewhat connected to the Fetts.

Here’s the synopsis offered by up by Disney : After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The directors list includes Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow and Dave Filoni, the studio confirmed today.

“The Mandalorian” bows 2019.
