Stephen King’s The Talisman coming to the big screen

With Stephen King movies all the rage (again), no surprise to hear that a bigscreen adaptation of the famed author’s “The Talisman” is in production at Amblin Partners and The Kennedy/Marshall Company.

Mike Barker, who has directed multi episodes of the critically acclaimed “The Handmaid’s Tale”, is set to direct the film.

Chris Sparling (“Buried”) will adapt the book, which King co-wrote with Peter Straub. It follows Jack Sawyer, a young boy in possession of a powerful talisman that can save his mother’s life, who is forced to go on the run from the inhabitants of a magical parallel universe who have discovered how to travel between worlds.

Before “The Talisman”, of course, we’ve umpteen other King-hits to sit through (and welcomingly so) including “Pet Sematary”, “It Chapter Two”, and “The Outsider”.
