Stranger Things star for Ghostbusters!

“Stranger Things” and “It” star Finn Wolfhard is in talks to star in Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters” threequel.

With the film said to be set in the same universe as the original 1984 and 1989 films, is it possible young Wolfhard is playing the grandson of the late Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis)? Would be a nice touch.

This wouldn’t be the first time Wolfhard has been around a proton pack – having dressed as a Ghostbuster for an episode of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” last season.

Reitman was initially reluctant to cast anyone from the series, being that they’re so similar in tone, but the young thesp’s audition apparently blew him away.

The actor, also known for his role in the “It” films, will join a group of other youngsters, as well as Dan Ayrkoyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson in the summer 2020 release.

Carrie Coon, of “Avengers : Infinity War” and “Gone Girl”, is also being courted for a lead.

Variety says that while the plot is being kept under wraps it’s said to focus on a single mom and her family, with Coon playing the mother and Wolfhard as her son.
