CBS All Access today announced the second season renewal of its latest original series.
“Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg’s reimagining of The Twilight Zone is off to an amazing start on CBS All Access, driving the most viewers on its premiere day for an original series to date,” said Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President, Original Content, CBS All Access. “Jordan, Simon, the creative team and cast have done a phenomenal job translating the series’ legacy of socially conscious storytelling for modern-day audiences. They are master storytellers, and we look forward to bringing fans further into The Twilight Zone with a second season.”
Santa Clarita Diet
Netflix has cancelled the Drew Barrymore/Timothy Olyphant-led comedy after three seasons. “The world had never known a ‘zom-com’ until ‘Santa Clarita Diet,’ and we’re indebted to creator Victor Fresco for bringing this idea to Netflix,” Netflix said in a statement. “To their endless credit, the incredible Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant were totally game, with an uncanny knack for comedy that brought Sheila and Joel Hammond to vibrant life, even though one of them was undead. We’re grateful to Victor, Drew, and Timothy, along with fellow executive producers Tracy Katsky, Aaron Kaplan, Chris Miller and Ember Truesdell and the terrific cast, including Liv Hewson and Skyler Gisondo, and crew for three hilarious seasons for Netflix members to discover for years to come.” [More…]
Little Fires Everywhere
“LaLa Land” actress Rosemarie DeWitt has joined the cast of Hulu’s highly anticipated upcoming (8-episode) limited series, ”Little Fires Everywhere”. The actress will play ‘Linda McCullough’ – Elena’s best friend. After longing for a child for decades and suffering losses no mother should suffer, Linda happily and wholeheartedly takes in an infant who was abandoned at a local fire station. Linda names the baby Mirabelle and loves her as her own, but when Mirabelle’s biological mother — a Chinese immigrant who’s in the country illegally — resurfaces, Linda becomes anguished and paranoid at the prospect of losing her daughter.
Netflix has released the trailer for “Murder Mystery”, beginning June 14, starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.
