To add to the long list of DC movies, Warner Bros. and DC are reportedly developing a “Supergirl” feature film, putting the heroine back onto the big screen.
Oren Uziel is working on a script, but no further details on plot or cast have been discussed at this early stage. The character of “Supergirl” has been played by Melissa Benoist on the CW TV show, which is just heading in to season four.
Supergirl is the cousin of Superman, and DC mythology states that the character escaped the doomed plant Krypton as a teenager, alongside an infant Clark Kent.
No word yet if Superman is intended to appear in the film.
DC have a lot of projects on the go at the minute, including “Joker” – the Joker’s origin film, “Birds of Prey” – with Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and the next “Batman” flick, as well as “Aquaman”, “Shazam!” and “The Flash”.
