Susan Sarandon (“The Meddler”, “A Bad Mom’s Christmas”) has replaced Sharon Stone in the role of villainous Victoria Kord in “Blue Beetle”, the upcoming film adaptation of the DC Comic that’s set to stream exclusively on HBO Max.

The Wrap had the news on the casting switcheroo, suggesting that Sarandon’s deal is done.

The actor joins Xolo Mariduena, Belissa Scobedo, George Lopez, Bruna Marquzine, and raoul Max Trujilo in the Angel Manuel Soto directed pic.

“Catwoman” actress Sharon Stone is making a return to the comic book movie with “Blue Beetle”, The Warner Bros/DC film set to be released theatrically August 18, 2023.

Stone (“Basic Instinct”, “Total Recall”) would join “Cobra Kai” breakout Xolo Maridueña, who plays the lead role of Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, with George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, Belissa Escobedo, Bruna Marquezine and Harvey Guillén. Angel Manuel Soto directs.

Stone, who played the villain in the abovesaid Halle Berry “Catwoman” film, is believed to be playing the villain, Victoria Kord, in “Blue Beetle” too.

In addition to Stone’s casting, The Wrap also exclusively reports that Raoul Max Trujillo (“Mayans M.C.”) will play Carapax the Indestructible Man.
