Tarantino wants to rescue Pacino next!?

The next actor Quentin Tarantino wants to customarily save from direct-to-video hell is… Al Pacino.

Per a report from Variety, Tarantino is keen to utilize the “Serpico” and “Sea of Love” star in his new late ‘60s set thriller. The film, said to be in the vein of “Pulp Fiction”, features a subplot about the Manson murders, with Margot Robbie set to play Sharon Tate.

One can imagine Pacino being a plum fit for a grizzled cop in such a scenario but there’s no word on the part Tarantino has in mind for the actor.

Though one of the greatest actors of our times, Pacino has spent the better part of the last decade appearing in direct-to-disc fare like “Righteous Kill”, “88 Minutes” and recently, “Hangman”. His best work in recent times can be found on cable, where he’s fronted meaty fare like “Phil Spector”, playing the title role, and “You Don’t Know Jack”, playing Kevorkian. He is currently filming Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman”, which – despite how big the part – promises to do more for him than the last dozen or so features he’s headlined.

Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play an ageing actor in the Tarantino film.

The untitled feature is set for a 2019 release.
