Tate Taylor to direct The Girl on the Train

“The Help” helmer Tate Taylor has been tapped to direct DreamWorks’ film adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ best-selleing novel “The Girl on the Train”.

The book follows a woman named Rachel, who recently became divorced and who spends her daily train commute fantasizing about the perfect couple in a house she passes. But one day she sees something shocking that gets her caught up in a mystery.

Dreamworks nabbed the rights to the novel last year before it had even been published (well done Dreamworks, its since spent 17 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list!).

Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff will produce.
