Simon West (“Con-Air”) will direct a remake of classic horror flick “The Blob” for Goldcrest Films.
Deadline says the new version will begin this Summer, and again fixes on an alien life-firm emerging from a crashed metor and terrorizing a small town.
“With modern CGI we can now fully realize the potential of The Blob”, says West. “The world I create will be totally believable, immersive and emotionally satisfying. It’s a thrill to introduce an enduring icon to a wider audience and a whole new era of fans.”
Richard Saperstein and Brian Witten will produce the movie.
