The Flash movie to take a dark turn!

This is interesting.

Actor Ezra Miller is reportedly butting heads with the directors of the long-gestating feature film adaptation of DC’s “The Flash”.  Per THR, he thinks John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein’s vision for the film is too tight, feeling Barry Allen’s big-screen solo film should be less “Shazam!” and more “Dark Knight”.

As a result, Miller’s taking matters into his own hands – writing a new script for the film with DC legend Geoff Morrison. There’s a lot riding on this script, with Miller’s option for “The Flash” expiring in May, it’s possible he could be ousted from the project if his collaboration with Morrison doesn’t bowl Warner and DC over.

With the DCEU getting somewhat of a reset right now (Batman’s about to be recast, for one), don’t be at all surprised if the studio does decide to recast the role and start afresh on the project – any way to distance themselves from the dire “Justice League”, which Miller staerred in, right?

If the new, darker script does get the thumbs up, the soonest the film can shoot – based on the actor’s commitments to the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise – is 2020.
