The Fonz dispatched to Wes Anderson’s next

Legendary “Happy Days” star Henry Winkler, currently riding a helluva comeback wave thanks to a critically praised turn on TV’s “Barry”, has been cast in the next Wes Anderson movie.

The 73-year-old actor, who won an Emmy for his role as Gene Cousineau, Bill Hader’s acting coach on the HBO comedy, and more recently, scored a Golden Globe nomination for his performance, joins Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Bob Balaban, Benicio del Toro and Timothee Chalamet in “The French Dispatch”.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film – currently shooting in France – is set in the 20th century at the Paris bureau of an American newspaper and threads three storylines.

Winkler’s other recent credits include “Arrested Development” for Netflix and Adam Sandler’s “Sandy Wexler”.
