The Kitchen enlists Elisabeth Moss

Elisabeth Moss is joining Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish in “The Kitchen”, a mob drama adapted from the DC/Vertigo female-fronted crime comic book series of the same name by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The Kitchen” is set in in Hell’s Kitchen, New York, in the 1970s. It follows the wives of Irish mobsters who end up taking over and running the business after the FBI does a sweep of the mafia and several men are arrested.

McCarthy will play an adoring mother who leads the women’s charge to take over the business, while Haddish will portray a woman willing to kill anyone in the way of her plan. Moss will play a timid wife of an abusive husband who falls in love with the violence of her new life.

Andrea Berloff, who co-wrote “Straight Outta Compton”, is making her directorial debut with the film, and Michael De Luca is producing.

The film is set to hit theatres September 20, 2019.
