Production has commenced on “The New Transporter”, a reboot of the Jason Statham-starring action franchise.
Ed Skrein (“Game of Thrones”) takes over as a younger incarnation of Frank Martin, with Loan Chabanol, Gabriella Wright, Radivoje Bukvic and Tatiana Pajkovic co-starring.
In the new film, Frank has to help the four women with a heist in order to save his kidnapped father.
Camille Delamarre is directing from a script by Luc Besson, Adam Cooper and Bill Collage.
“The New Transporter” is one of several newly-greenlit actioners from Besson’s Europacorp that are on the company’s 2014 slate; also in pre-production, “Taken 3”, the martial-arts film “Warrior’s Gate”, and Simon West-directed “DNA”.
