Tom Hardy to star in Splinter Cell movie

The on-again off-again on-again “Splinter Cell” movie – that’s the feature based on the Ubisoft video-game – has dusted itself off, headed for the starting line again, says Deadline. Tom Hardy, of ‘let’s get him for everything’ fame, has been enlisted to donate his floating head to the poster.

Derived from the works of Tom Clancy, “Splinter Cell” is a game that fixes on a special-operative named Sam Fisher (to be played by Hardy) as he participates in a hush-hush black-ops mission known as Echelon.

The screenplay, likely riddled with the word ‘boom!’ a lot, is being written by Eric Warren Singer (“The International”). Though Paramount and Warner Bros have discussed housing the project, neither have committed yet.
