Toy Story 4 : the abandoned toys have a voice!

Who ever said “Toy Story” was just for the kids? The impressive cast for “Toy Story 4” is even better now, with the addition of Mel Brooks, Betty White, Carol Burnett and Carl Reiner to voice abandoned toys – who according to director Josh Cooley each have a ‘punny’ name and a “natural personality” reflecting the individual icon – hence the comment about appealing to us adult folk.

According to USA Today: Burnett, 86, voices the kid seat Chairol Burnett; Reiner, 97, plays the adorably pink Carl Reineroceros; and White, 97, is teething toy Bitey White. Brooks, 92, gives life to little pachyderm Melephant Brooks.

The actors join returning voice cast Tom Hanks and Tim Allen.

“Toy Story 4” finds Woody (Hanks) and the gang settling into their new roles as playthings for young Bonnie after their first owner Andy let them go in the previous film. And among the new crew are these four baby toys that are no longer in the spotlight for this little girl, reminiscing about the good old days when times were simpler.

Can’t wait! But as we all know, I’m just here for the fork.

“Toy Story 4” hits cinemas June 21.
