Trailer : Greyhound starring Tom Hanks and a Sub!

The new Tom Hanks-release “Greyhound”, opening June 12, has torpedoed onto the interweb a soaking-wet trailer missile.

This one looks like a goodie. Set in the early days of WWII, the Aaron Schneider directed pic tells of an an international convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by captain Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) in his first command of a U.S. destroyer, as he crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi U-boats.

We haven’t had a good sub-flick for a while – surely “The Hunt for Red October” (1990) wasn’t the last, decent one? – so this one will be a welcome addition to the multiplex come the summer.

Hanks himself wrote the film, which also stars Stephan Graham, Rob Morgan and and Elisabeth Shue.
