TV bits : Suits spinoff gets a title; X Files star cast as Thatcher

The upcoming spinoff for “Suits”, which stars Gina Torres as the main character, has been titled after the lead. The spinoff will be called “Pearson”, which is the name of Torres’ character in the show – Jessica Pearson.

The spinoff will also star Simon Kassianides, Morgan Spector, Bethany Joy Lenz, Chantel Riley, Isabel Arraiza and Eli Goree, and was introduced at the end of “Suits” season 7.

“X-Files” star Gillian Anderson is entering into the world of politics, being cast to play former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in season 4 of “The Crown”. Season 3 is yet to air, set to hit the Netflix waves in 2019, and jumping ahead to the 1970s. Thatcher’s inclusion in season 4 would suggest it will take place in the 1980s, with the controversial PM serving from 1979-1990.

Starring in season 3 of “The Crown” will be Olivia Colman – taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy, with Tobias Menzies, Ben Daniels and Helena Bonham Carter will respectively play the ’70s versions of Prince Philip, Lord Snowdon and Princess Margaret. Also starring are Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, Emerald Fennell as Camilla Parker Bowles, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne and Marion Bailey as the Queen Mother.
