TV Casting: Chiklis, McQueen, Ambrose, Amell, Sterling, Staton, Hilty

Michael Chiklis has been cast as a series regular on Fox’s “Gotham”.

He’ll play Captain Nathaniel Barnes – “Barnes lands on the Gotham City Police Department like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of the city’s police force. He is a law-and-order zealot; unafraid of making enemies on either side of the law. For Gordon (Ben McKenzie) he is a hero and a mentor, someone with whom he can share the burden of heroism. Captain Barnes proves himself to be a strong ally to Gordon (Ben McKenzie), but one day he will make an equally powerful enemy.”

“Gotham” season 2 will premiere on September 25 at 8 pm.

“Vampire Diaries” alum Steven R. McQueen has joined “Chicago Fire” in a recurring role.

The actor will play newbie Jimmy Borelli – the character makes a dramatic entrance on his first day of work, and that doesn’t sit well with his boss, Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker).

Fox has added Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell to the cast of “The X-Files”. The new additions will appear in one episode of the six-ep event series.

We don’t know much about their characters except that Ambrose’s character is the “sharp” and “confident” Agent Einstein and Amell will play the “smart” and “smooth” Agent Miller.

Maury Sterling, Megan Hilty and Aaron Stanton have joined “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”.

Sterling will play Jo’s (Alanna Ubach) ex-husband, Frumpkis; Hilty will play Jo’s new wife Charlene; and Stanton will play JD, a new love interest of one of the show’s ladies (although we don’t know which one yet).
