Jeph Loeb to Marvel TV Fans :

After yesterday’s shock (or was it?) cancellation of “The Punisher” and “Jessica Jones”, leaving not a one Marvel series on Netflix, Marvel’s Jeph Loeb released the following letter :

It had never been done before.

Four separate television series, each with different super-talented showrunners, writers, directors, cast and crew, coming out months apart and then…

…they would meet in a single event series all set in the heart of New York City.

We called them The Defenders.

And together we were thrilled by stories of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and even the Punisher joined in!

They said it couldn’t be done.

But Marvel assembled amazing teams to write, produce, direct, edit, and score 13 seasons and 161 one-hour episodes.

Take a moment and go online and look at the dazzling list of actors, writers, directors, and musicians who graced us with the very best of their craft.

We loved each and every minute of it.

And we did it all for you — the fans — who cheered for us around the world and made all the hard work worth it.

So, Thank You!

On behalf of everyone at Marvel Television, we couldn’t be more proud or more grateful to our audience.

Our Network partner may have decided they no longer want to continue telling the tales of these great characters… but you know Marvel better than that.

As Matthew Murdock’s Dad once said, “The measure of a man is not how he gets knocked to the mat, it’s how he gets back up.”

To be continued…!

– Jeph Loeb and all of us at Marvel Television

The Man In The High Castle

Amazon Prime Video today announced that the fourth and final season of the Emmy Award-winning series ”The Man in the High Castle” will premiere this fall. The final season is currently being filmed in Vancouver and will wrap next month.

“It has been a great privilege to work alongside our extraordinary High Castle team, in partnership with David Zucker and Scott Free, to bring my father’s classic novel to life, particularly during this tumultuous period in our real world. I believe fans will be thrilled and satisfied by the epic conclusion we have in store for them,” said Isa Dick Hackett, executive producer, ”The Man in the High Castle”. “I am very grateful for the ongoing support from Amazon as we produce this final season, and look forward to building on this extremely successful partnership. Stay tuned; there’s more to come!”

“The undertaking of High Castle has been simply extraordinary from the start: the seven years it took to land an ideal home at Amazon – the behind-the-scenes artistry which has been as awe-inspiring to experience as hopefully the work on-screen so powerfully delivered – and an audience whose high standard to meet was our unyielding goal,” said executive producer David Zucker. “It’s all gratitude to the talent, who persevered and so masterfully excelled, to Amazon for their deep support, and to Isa and her team, for the trust and valued partnership in which we’ve thrived every step of the way.”

“We are incredibly proud of all of the hard work from the massively talented executive producers, cast, crew, and everyone who has worked on The Man in the High Castle over the years,” said Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios. “With production ongoing on our fourth and final season, we can’t wait for fans to see how this final chapter in the story unfolds. The Man in the High Castle helped define Amazon Prime Video in the genre space, and we are grateful and excited that we’ll continue to be in business with Isa and Electric Shepherd Productions for future Philip K. Dick adaptations.”

Arrested Development

The second half of “Arrested Development’s” fifth season will debut March 15 on Netflix, the network announced today.

In the second half of Arrested Development’s fifth season, pressures mount on the Bluth family as Buster heads toward a murder trial. The Bluth company is on the hook to build a ‘smart’ border wall that puts them in debt and risks exposing a software hoax perpetrated by George-Michael. Soon the gay mafia is involved and it appears that even Michael can’t save the family this time. And Tobias becomes a Golden Girl.
