Twin Peaks Mondo Posters, MacLachlan nabs new series

Mondo is toasting to David Lynch & Mark Frost’s legendary series with a series of new posters.

The new gallery show, “The Art of Greg Ruth – A Twin Peaks Interpretation”, will open March 8-12 in Austin, Texas at the Mondo Gallery (4115 Guadalupe Street) during the SXSW Film Festival.

“Mondo is excited to announce their next gallery show The Art of Greg Ruth – A Twin Peaks Interpretation featuring over sixty new prints by artist Greg Ruth inspired by the iconic SHOWTIME® series from Mark Frost & David Lynch. The opening gallery event will take place on Friday, March 8 from 6 – 10pm, and will remain on display through March 12 for regular gallery hours (Mondo Gallery, 4115 Guadalupe St). All giclée prints will be available at the gallery for purchase starting opening night, and remaining prints will be released online each month through August on Mondo’s website.

“We were blown away by the art Greg had done online for Twin Peaks as a fan, so we wanted to find a way to get that work out into the world,” said Creative Director Mitch Putnam. “When the idea of a gallery show came up, we knew having all of the pieces in one room was too good to pass up.”

Meanwhile, “Twin Peaks” patriarch Kyle MacLachlan has been set to star opposite Patricia Heaton in CBS comedy pilot ”Carol’s Second Act”, says Deadline.

The half-hour laffer centers on Carol Chambers (Heaton), who after raising her two children and retiring from teaching, embarks on a unique second act: She’s going to become a doctor.

MacLachlan will play Dr. Frost. Handsome, affable and accomplished, he is the Senior Attending Physician on the ward (as well as the Department Chair) and thinks he’s funnier than he is. Considerably more empathetic than Dr. Maya (Ito Aghayere), Dr. Frost takes an immediate shine to Carol. Bonnie Dennison also co-stars.
