Universal moves forward with Wolfman

After Leigh Whannell’s “The Invisible Man” restarted Universal’s monster universe after the disaster that was “The Mummy”, Universal have begun moving forward with the next project “Wolfman” – which will have Ryan Gosling as the star.

Word is that Universal have been meeting with potential directors for the film. Variety notes that Cory Finley (“Bad Education”) has been one name in the mix.

Per Variety, it’s unknown what the new take on “Wolfman” will look like, though it is believed to be set in present times and in the vein of Jake Gyllenhaal’s thriller “Nightcrawler,” with an obvious supernatural twist.

Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo wrote the script, which is based on an original pitch by Gosling.
