Animated sequels “Sing 2” and “Minions: The Rise of Gru” have been pushed back in Universal’s schedule, seeing the family films get delayed amongst the Coronavirus reshuffling.
“The Rise of Gru” is being pushed back a full year, now set for release on July 2, 2021. That was also the date “Sing 2” was to be released, which has now been pushed back a few months to December 22, 2021.
Unfortunately this leaves the long-gestating “Wicked” homeless – the adaptation of the Broadway musical. It is set to be redated sometime in the near future, hopefully.
