Updates on NYPD Blue & New York Undercover reboots

Like The CW and “The Lost Boys” pilot that they’ve decided to send back to the workshop for tinkering, ABC have opted to spend a little longer on “N.Y.P.D Blue” before slotting it on their schedule.

The reboot of the ’90s drama, originally planned for the fall, will be tweaked and likely undergo reshoots. Understandably, that might mean some of the cast- which includes Alona Tal, Rick Gomez and Kim Delaney – may have to jump ship.

In the new take, Andy Sipowicz’s son tries to earn his detective shield and work in the 15th squad while investigating his father’s murder.

Meantime, ABC has opted not to pick up the reboot of police classic “New York Undercover”. Universal TV plans to shop the series, again starring Malik Yoba, elsewhere.
