Vin Diesel likely to return for Bloodshot 2

Thanks to a successful run on PVOD, as well as a seemingly unyielding boost from Drive-in theaters, Sony’s “Bloodshot” managed to make quite a decent bit of bank this year.

The Vin Diesel starrer, which was released theatrically just before the Covid-19 pandemic kicked in, was sent straight to digital streaming services (for a premium pay-per-view fee) and to whatever Drive-in theaters stayed open throughout lockdown.

DMG Entertainment CEO Dan Mintz tells Comic Book Resources that it’s likely they’ll do another “Bloodshot”.

“I think [Bloodshot] was very successful in that respect, a lot of people saw it and it did very well in the post-release rollout but you can’t use the same evaluation process, pre-COVID, to this,” he said. “[Are] Vin Diesel and all those people going to still continue? Yes, because it did so well and the response to it has been so well, it’s just that the response has been in a non-transparent environment, as opposed to a transparent environment like box office numbers.”

Directed by David S.F Wilson, “Bloodshot” tells of Ray Garrison, an elite soldier killed in battle, who is resurrected and given superhuman abilities. As he sets out to get revenge, he uncovers secrets about his life and the people supposedly helping him.
