Wait, so Barry Allen is now Green Arrow!?

Marketing materials for The CW’s big superhero-series crossover event sure suggests the unlikely switcheroo, anyway.

As those in the comic-book-know know (did that even make sense?), Elseworlds is the name is of the publication imprint for American comic books produced by DC Comics for stories that took place outside the DC Universe canon. The first Elseworlds title was Gotham by Gaslight, which saw Batman taking on Jack the Ripper in the Victorian Age. Later, an issue featured an alternate origin story for Superman – one in which Superman was raised by apes in imitation of Tarzan.

Perceptibly, the CW crossover event will work the same way, revealing the story of an alternate timeline in which Barry Allen became The Green Arrow, instead of The Flash, and Oliver Queen, got around in the red instead of the greens.

The crossover will also feature Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) in his less-traditional ‘Black’ suit, as well as new caped crusader, Batwoman (Ruby Rose). Supergirl. This crossover will also introduce Gotham City, Nora Fries, and Lois Lane to the Arrowverse.

“Elseworlds”, will run three nights, kicking off on Sunday, December 9th on ‘’The Flash’’ at 8 p.m. ET. It continues on ‘’Arrow’’ Monday, December 10th at 8 p.m. and then finishes up on ‘’Supergirl’’ Tuesday, December 11th at 8 p.m. ET.
