For no reason other than he has a scheduling clash, “Crazy Rich Asians” director Jon M.Chu has had top step away from Disney+’s “Willow” series.
”With the production schedule moving due to continued lockdowns in the UK, with a new baby coming in the summer (surprise!), the timing is just not going to work for me and my family”, Chu told Twitter followers.
Chu says, like most of us, he looks forward to sitting down and watching the series – which is set years after the 1988 film.
“Like a kid seeing Willow for the first time in the ’80s, I will look forward to watching this magical world unfold as a very enthusiastic fan,” Chu added. “And boy do they have an adventure in store for you!”
A new director is likely to be announced shortly. Hey, I have a suggestion! What about Ron Howard!?
