Warner Bros dates 3 theatricals for 2023 plus Dune may be back to being a theatrical experience!

After their arguably understandable tanty over Warner’s decision to release the film on HBO Max (concurrently with theaters next year), the producers of “Dune” may have convinced the studio to instead give the film an exclusive release in theaters. Amazing what a cease-and-desist can achieve!

Word floating around the traps is that the studio backpedaled on their decision to premiere Denis Villeneuve ‘s space epic on the streamer following Legendary Pictures intent to sue. Villeneuve believed that by releasing the film on HBO Max, as opposed to giving the Josh Brolin-starrer a big theatrical release, Warner would essentially be killing the franchise. He has a point.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros have announced the theatrical release dates of three 2023 films : George Miller’s “Mad Max” prequel “Furiosa” starring Chris Hemsworth, which will open June 23, 2023, Dave Green’s animated “Coyote vs Acme” for July 21, 2023, and the remake of “The Color Purple” for Dec 20, 2023.  At this stage, none of the films will also get a simultaneous HBO Max release.
